"Get lost in the world to remember who you are." -Renée Cheréz
After six years and counting of backpacking, slow traveling, and moving through different parts of the world, travel has become more than a thing I love to do--it's become one of my core values. Travel has morphed from "seeing all the things" to an essential tool in my liberation. It has become my launchpad to deep revelations, healing, love, freedom, rest, pleasure, wellness, learning, unlearning, and remembering.
This workbook is a resource I wish I had when I started. Something that wasn't only about the best things to see, do, and where, but something that asked me deeper questions about my intentions, spiritual practices, and liberation for not only travel but my life. Something that affirmed that choosing to travel/live abroad indefinitely would be the scariest but most liberating choice I would make for myself.
If there is anything I know for sure, it's that Black people deserve to get lost. We deserve to take up every ounce of space and place on this Earth because we are free.
This workbook and my work centers the liberation of Black people, most especially Black women+ and femmes. I also know that our liberation is bounded so I encourage and welcome Brown and Indigenous women+ and femmes who feel resonance with this offering to use it on their own liberation journeys.
